Sehri Dua – Prayer for keeping fast
Sehri is a blessed meal consumed before dawn during Ramadan, marking the beginning of the daily fast. It is a time of spiritual reflection, gratitude, and intention-setting for the day ahead. Before starting the fast, Muslims recite the Sehri Dua (intention for fasting) to seek Allah’s blessings and make their fast valid.

Significance of Sehri & Making Dua
- Prophetic Sunnah: Eating Sehri is highly recommended, as the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, “Eat Sehri, for in Sehri there is blessing.” (Bukhari, Muslim)
- Increased Barakah: Reciting the Sehri Dua invites Allah’s blessings and strengthens one’s intention for fasting.
- Spiritual Preparation: It helps in mentally and spiritually preparing for the day of fasting with sincerity and devotion.
Sehri is not just about eating before dawn—it is a moment of spiritual connection and an opportunity to start the fast with blessings. Recite the Sehri Dua with faith, and may your fast be rewarded and accepted by Allah.
